While we do not participate as in-network providers for any private insurance companies, we do accept all insurance plans. We work with a third-party billing service to get authorizations, gap-exceptions, and payments from insurance companies. Please visit doylebilling.com to get a verification of benefits for private insurance before starting care with Lake City Birth. Clients with private insurance are expected to pay the full fee upfront, and our third-party biller will then, as a courtesy, bill your insurance after the 6-week postpartum visit, and over-payments will be reimbursed to you. Discounts and payment plans are available to those who qualify.
Homebirth is covered by private insurance. By Florida statute number 627.6574: “Birth with a licensed midwife is covered by any group, blanket, or franchise policy of health insurance that provides coverage for maternity care”.
Lake City Birth, LLC, is a Medicaid provider, and accepts all plans under Medicaid, with Sunshine State Health Plans being our favorite.
Unfortunately, TRICARE Maternity Care does not cover licensed midwives. We offer generous discounts to those with current TRICARE coverage wanting a home birth.
